Grace

What would it be like to have grace for yourself and others? It is nice to take the perspective that people are doing the best they can. We never know what others are going through. If you can be anything, why not just be kind. Life is hard enough on a good day, the way the world is there are so many stressors and things can be so hectic. There seems to be an increase in symptoms of anxiety and depression overall for people. I think taking all of these things into consideration is key to living in a more graceful way. 

How can we have grace?

Have realistic expectations. 

Communicate with curiosity. 

Be soft and gentle, even ask yourself- how can I be more gentle on myself today or in this moment?

Allow for rest and downtime. 

Slow down. 

Show Empathy. 

Do 1 thing at a time. 

Take breaks and allow others to take breaks. 

Remind yourself- you are one person and you can only do so many things.... or they are 1 person and can only do so many things. 

Recognize negative / judgemental thoughts. 

Express gratitude. 

Treat yourself like you would a friend. 

Remember mistakes are ok. 

 

There are so many ways that we can have grace. If we show more grace, the next person may as well. Start with self grace and pay it forward.
